About our founder and Executive Director
In 1987, God gave Debbie McGee a , mandate to start a Child Abuse Prevention Foundation. Ms. McGee is passionate about teaching, citing it as a fulfilling, rewarding and renewing experience. She received her Bachelor's Degree from the State University of New York New Paltz, in journalism and a Culinary Arts Degree in 2003 from Chattahoochee Technical College. A former cooking instructor at a group home, Ms. McGee now focuses on teaching abused an neglected teens basic cooking skills. With more than 40 years of successful cooking experiences, Ms. McGee serves as a mentor to future teens as well as practitioners in the culinary field. Over the years, Ms. McGee has obeyed God and started The Delightful Cook Foundation in August 2014 after obtaining her 501(c)(3) from the I.R.S. The Foundation will help teach abused and neglected teens 17-21 years old basic cooking skills, provide temporary housing and award scholarships to attend a two- year or four-year college to obtain a degree in Culinary Arts.
